Shapr3D

VP of Product - August 2019 - July 2024

Shapr3D is a radically efficient CAD tool that helps design and manufacturing teams create better products faster.

I joined Shapr3D as the first Product Management hire, built out the Product organization, and became a member of the forming executive team.
In my time with the company I led the strategy that transitioned the company from an iPad app used by prosumers, to a multi-platform professional-grade design tool adopted through product-led motions by enterprise companies.
As a member of the executive team, I played a key role in driving culture, operational practices, and financial planning. This helped us scale from about 20 to 130 people while keeping low burn and high alignment around impactful initiatives.
- I worked on multiple initiatives across Product Management, Product Marketing, Growth and Brand Marketing. Together with these teams, I have:
- Launched features which defined some of the core UX patterns of our award winning software.
- Launched pricing, packaging and payment flows that have contributed significant % uplifts to net new MRR
- Defined segment messaging
- Worked on communications strategy and multimedia assets for product launches
- Helped roll out a new professional brand identity.

Director of Product - December 2015 - October 2019

Senior Product Manager - August 2014 - December 2015

Prezi is the pioneering zooming presentation software that uses an open canvas instead of traditional slides to help people explore ideas, collaborate more effectively, and create visually dynamic presentations.

Spearheaded the company wide-effort to shift from the Adobe Flash based Prezi Classic to the future proof Prezi Next. I took this over as a stalled and risky project and saw it through to delivery while protecting legacy revenue.
Drove the product discovery efforts to develop a deep understanding of new target market segments that became the foundations of our strategy.
Worked across 10 cross-functional teams to define the strategy for Prezi’s core product, define the user experience journey, execute against those plans, provide context to the go-to-market teams, and coordinate releases.
Led the product organization through impact forecasting with finance and go-to-market teams. Set business impact and user experience goals for the teams during OKR planning. Monitored and shared the results and lessons from different initiatives.
Collaborated with Sales, Marketing and Finance to create a Go-to-Market Strategy that would help Prezi transition from early adopters to a mainstream business market. Contributed through research on the competitive landscape, positioning documents, assisting in purchasing behavior research and feature packaging.
Mentored Product Managers on product development and leadership skills.
Worked with a variety of cross functional teams working on core Prezi functionality, including the authoring tool, our teams administration features, collaboration features, team purchase flows, activation growth and the desktop applications.

Uniblue

Product Manager - September 2009 - May 2014

Uniblue, was the leading provider of software that helped improve the performance and stability of computer systems and was focused on applying a deep understanding of technology to maximize system effectiveness through simple, user-friendly interfaces.

Successfully pioneered and rolled out a number of product development practices to the organization, including cross functional teams, improved tooling, product roadmaps, agile requirements, business cases for new projects and data driven product management.
Led Engineering and Quality Assurance teams of about 20 people over a transitional period of 1 year, during which I reduced churn, hired key specialists and reinvigorated our remote development team in Ukraine.
Established an Innovation team within the product organization to help evaluate internal and external opportunities.
Led development of tooling for our Marketing organization, enabling managing over 2000 customized online sales funnels as well as Web and Desktop software A/B Testing tooling across these funnels.

Final dissertation on: Applying User-Centered Design Techniques to Online Identity Systems:

Based on best practices in the fields of Digital Identity, Interaction Design and Secure Usability, this project derives a series of principles for the design of User-centric Online Identity and Authentication platforms. These principles are: Secure by default; Trustworthy Interface; Control; Context; Visibility; Clarity; and Feedback. Two key archetypes, identified during the practical component of this project, informed the creation of specific User Personas. Through these Personas it became apparent that factors such as the user’s perception of control over their identify are essential to the success of Online Identity and Authentication systems.
